Our journey, our purpose, our healing
Welcome to Kalka Healing, where our commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander suicide prevention is deeply rooted in experience, passion, and cultural strength. Discover our story and what drives us.

Our founding story and unwavering passion
My name is Cleavon Davis. I am a First Nations man with a heritage background coming from Kalkadoon Wannyi and Eastern Arrente, and born in Mount Isa. I consider myself an Aboriginal Suicide prevention practitioner and an experienced, qualified counsellor.
For over 20 years, my passion has been working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within the Social Emotional Wellbeing sector.
I have dedicated a decade to social-emotional well-being counselling. I have worked with suicide, comforted it, experienced it, tolerated it, spoken with it and researched it as a First Nations.
Suicide is viewed as a devastating disease among First Nations people throughout Australia. I have compiled all my knowledge, skills, and research to develop this training.
Suicide is a sensitive and complex issue for First Nations people. To overcome these complexities, we must educate and involve people to develop a cultural understanding of coping and responding that empowers First Nations to manage in their own way.
We must never forget to influence culture, because culture is a strength, always has been, and always will be, for First Nations people; Our connectedness is your identity.

Who we help through our training
Kalka Healing aims to assist individuals, groups, and communities across Australia who are working with or within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
This includes health professionals, SEWB, prisons, community workers, educators, family members, and anyone seeking to develop culturally appropriate, safe, and sensitive strategies for suicide prevention.
Our training is designed to empower participants with the knowledge and tools to foster resilience, identify the risks, gain cultural understanding and promote healing within their specific suicide prevention strategy and self-care contexts, always respecting and empowering local customs and traditions.
"Kalka Healing's approach is truly transformative. Their deep respect for culture and community shines through every aspect of their training, making it incredibly impactful."
